TMJ/TMD - TemporomandibularJoint
/ Temporomandibular Disorder
The
TMJ is the joint that connects the lower jaw (the mandible) to
your skull, near the ear. When this joint becomes irritated and
inflamed, it can be extremely painful to move, making chewing
and talking difficult. This becomes a TMD or ‘disorder
of the joint.’
A few symptoms associated with TMD are:
- Headaches
- Aches in the face
- Tooth aches
- Pain in the jaw joints or on jaw movement
- Ear pain, tinnitus and ear pressure
- Neck, back, shoulder and chest pain
Dr. Mouravieff screens every patient and thoroughly evaluates
those who have signs and symptoms of this problem. Our sensitive
equipment can detect abnormalities in jaws/joints and muscles.
Dr. Mouravieff will then draw up a treatment plan to begin your
journey to a healthy TMJ. What sets Dr. Mouravieff apart is his
knowledge and experience in neuromuscular dentistry. |
